I have not been able to post much the last month or so, but I have some great news (no, I have not gotten better); my niece Devyn lettered in Golf at Elmira High School! I was able to break free and walk the last 10 holes at her district qualifier. Though she did not qualify for state, she had a very good round. What makes this so great is that this is her first year of competitive golf. During golf season, I was lucky enough to see her every Tuesday out at Diamond Woods Golf course while she was at practice. She is going to be a pretty good player, and I will be losing to her soon! I am very proud of her and can’t wait for next year.
GREAT JOB DEVYN!

Howdy,
I started playing golf with my brother John and best friend Mike about 20 years back. I have no grand illusions of play on any type of tour, I just like to play. Mike and I created “Hack Fest” back in 2003 so that we could get away for a couple of days just to play golf (and poker!). We have 6 original members, besides Mike and I, my brothers John and Mike, Jim, and Big Joe. We have held Hack Fest every year since 2003 with trips to the Oregon coast, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, and Mesquite Nevada!
I have decided that I need to improve my game. I’ve been shooting on the high 90s and have set a goal of trying to break 80 (hopefully in my lifetime). I have create this blog so that my friends can track my progress (and my regress), as well comment of courses that we play, games that we play, and friends that we make. I guarantee that there will not be any “men’s club” as friends, as we find most of them to be overrated, have delusions of grandeur, and some of the worst complainers of other golfers.
Well, enough about me….FORE!
